Live Right, Save Sight: Facts About Diabetes and Your Eyes video explains the effects of diabetes on your eyes and provides you with positive strategies to help you maintain healthy vision. Live Right, Save Sight also includes three additional videos on diabetic retinopathy, cataracts and glaucoma which are all associated with diabetic eye disease. Live Right, Save Sight videos and free downloadable fact sheets are available in English and Spanish.
Healthy Eyes Education Series offers a variety of short videos on topics including: how your eyes work; common adult vision problems such as refractive errors, and age-related vision conditions – diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, cataracts and age-related macular degeneration; low vision; and eye safety at home, work, and while playing sports. Each segment includes an interactive quiz and fact sheets for free download. Each segment and all factsheets are available in English and Spanish.
Diabetic Eye Disease Educator Course is a self-guided course for healthcare professionals, community health educators, diabetes educators, and anyone responsible for diabetes education for patients or clients. The course equips health educators with important patient education messages about diabetic eye disease and strategies for maintaining healthy vision. The objective is to train diabetes and community health educators to deliver patient education about Diabetic Retinopathy, Cataract and Glaucoma, and the methods for prevention and vision preservation, to those who are diabetic as well as populations at highest risk for developing diabetes.
